Splatoon 2 is a game filled with vibrant colors and unique character designs, so it makes sense that in a game like this your character would have access to a wide selection of outfits. Not that you can focus entirely on looks and ignore the dilemma of finding the best weapon that is.
But if you've already got your weapon of choice then picking up new outfits might be a good way to improve your game, especially as they all come with different abilities. There is no doubt that the Fresh Fish outfit is one of the worst outfits in the game. When everyone else is wearing stylish and modern clothes, it offers you the chance to dress as a mascot for Fresh Fish, one of the fictional business franchises in the world of Splatoon.

And while the helmet may not be the most stylish item in the game, the jacket and boots both offer good aesthetics and useful main abilities, along with an extra two slots for secondary abilities.

The Amiibos of the iconic inklings all offer gear worth grabbing, but of all the available gear from the inkling figures, the school cardigan set is the most disappointing. The cardigan item itself works well with many outfits, but the clip-on earrings and loafers lack the same sense of style.
This mediocre aesthetic and fairly average set of main powers makes for an outfit that isn't necessarily bad but it does pale in comparison to some of the items offered by other Amiibo figures.
10 Callie - Replica Hero Gear

This set is inspired by the hero suit worn by Agent 3 in the original Splatoon. As a whole, the outfit is very similar to the Replica Armor Gear unlocked using Marie's Amiibo but is set apart by the lack of helmet on the headpiece and the high-visibility jacket that covers the torso.
Its main abilities focus on increasing your character's movement speed, with every item increasing your mobility in some way. So if you're a player who likes to move across the map at speed, facing down the difficult levels of Octo Valley to be able to unlock this set of gear is well worth your time.
9 Inkling Girl - School Uniform
This outfit includes:

- School Shoes
The original inkling girl Amiibo offers a school-themed outfit just like the Splatoon 2 version does, however, this one is a little more stylish. The shoes in particular work with a lot more outfits thanks to being a darker color, and the outfit as a whole is simply more pleasant.
But the real benefit of the original inkling girl outfit comes from the outfit's abilities. With the hair clip increasing swim speed and the uniform increasing ink recovery, this outfit makes recovering ink as easy as it will ever be.
8 Pearl - Pearlescent Outift
This outfit includes:

- Pearlescent Hoodie
- Pearlescent Kicks
Pearl is the inkling half of Off the Hook and has an aesthetic filled with pale colors and tinges of pink that fits her name well. So it makes sense that the outfit received from her Amiibo follows than same aesthetic.
The hoodie and kicks are stylish along with a crown that may or may not be to your tastes. Aesthetically, it's a good outfit, but it's let down by a lack of any notable abilities. So unless you're confident in your skills, this may need combining with items from other sets to create a balance between aesthetic and gameplay benefits.
7 Octoling Girl - Enchanted Outfit
This outfit includes:

- Enchanted Boots
The octoling girl Amiibo offers players the opportunity to dress as a witch while they blast their opponents with ink. It's an unusual outfit considering the Amiibo figure itself, but it does look good in the game and really that's the entire point, no matter how confusing a choice it might be.
And while this outfit doesn't feature the most useful abilities in the game, they are helpful and the enchanted robe even offers the tricky-to-find Thermal Ink ability which can help you keep track of your opponents even when they are out of sight.
6 Splatoon 2 Inkling Boy - Squinja Outfit
This outfit includes:

Splatoon 2's inkling received an Amiibo figure at the same time the game was released and offered players the opportunity to dress as a squinja (a squid ninja if you couldn't figure it out).
Being a ninja outfit, it of course does a pretty good job of making players look cool. But that isn't all it's good for as it also has abilities that increase the player's movement and respawn rate, making it excellent for those fast-paced matches.
5 Splatoon 2 Inkling Squid - Power Armor Mk 1

The Splatoon 2 inkling squid offers a redesigned set of power armor that is blockier than the original design found in the first set (coming up). The design also features a reflective metal surface that makes for a unique style.
The abilities are unsurprisingly focused on defense, with each element boosting either the player's ink resistance or their bomb defense. So if you plan on taking the hits for your team or just want to look like the shiniest player on the battlefield, this is the outfit for you.
4 Octoling Boy - Steel Armor
This outfit includes:

- Steel Greaves
Following in the octoling girl's footsteps, the octoling boy Amiibo also offers a fantasy-inspired outfit, this time in the form of a knight's steel armor. This unique outfit makes for an intimidating look that any player can pull off.
The abilities focus more on dealing damage than anything else, helping the player by charging specials and subs more quickly while also allowing them to do more damage to objects placed by their opponents. So if you plan on dealing out damage, this is the outfit to go with.
3 Marina - Marinated Outfit
This outfit includes:

- Marinated Top
- Marinated Slip-Ons
Marina has one of the coolest character designs in all of Splatoon and the outfit received from her Amiibo does a good job of living up to that same standard. With stylish headphones and shoes as well as a crop top that anyone can pull off, it's potentially one of the best-looking outfits available from any Amiibo.
Not to mention it comes with abilities that boost the effectiveness of your weapon's special ability, making you an even more powerful presence when you're on the battlefield.
2 Inkling Boy - Samurai Armor
This outfit includes:

- Samurai Jacket
- Samurai Shoes
It's hard not to love the styling of samurai armor and that's exactly why the outfit players receive from the original inkling boy Amiibo ranks so highly on this list. With striking visuals, each item in this set is capable of setting a player apart all by themselves, so combining them all is guaranteed to draw attention.
The abilities focus mostly on making the special abilities of player weapons more effective but the helmet also increases the speed of the super jump ability, allowing players to get back into the action quicker. So if you like to go on the offense, this is an outfit worth considering.
1 Inkling Squid - Power Armor

The original inkling squid Amiibo offers up one of the most iconic outfits in the game as a reward to players. This original power armor set has a much sleeker design than the Mk 1 set and features glowing tubes that change color to match your current ink color.
Unlike the Mk 1 armor though, the original power armor offers a mix of abilities, with increased bomb defense and ink efficiency, as well as shorter respawn times. Together these abilities make for a well-rounded set of gear suitable for all styles of play.
